Cheaper flights mean you can travel further, for longer!

Jetting off on holiday is something we all look forward to, but perhaps don’t do as often as we would like due to the costs involved. If you are someone who makes taking time out a low priority because you do not feel that you can justify spending the money, we completely sympathise!

But finding cheaper flights is definitely possible if you know the right tricks, so we’re here to let you know a couple of tactics that we’ve found work for us so that you can jet off that little bit more frequently! Read on to find out more.

Fly at quiet times

If it’s cheap you’re after, the time you fly can make all the difference. For example, if you look for flights during peak times such as during school holidays you are bound to find that the prices shoot up compared to a period that is in less demand.

Early mornings, red-eye flights, or other unsociable hours are likely to cost you far less, so if you are able to fly at these times you should certainly consider it.

Be flexible

If you can be flexible, that will help you greatly when it comes to finding cheap deals. If you use the search function on skyscanner.net you can set your destination to ‘anywhere’ and simply have a browse through the cheapest places to visit.

This is a great option if you want to see more of the world or are desperate for a break but haven’t set your heart on one destination in particular.

You can even go one step further and search by ‘whole month’ on Skyscanner, where you can then select the option to show the cheapest month. The more flexible you can be on timing and destination, the bigger the savings available!

Speak to an agent

If you can’t just jet off whenever you please or you don’t want to have to do all of the research and booking yourself, another great option is to go through an agent such as Globehunters, who can help you to find the best deal to suit you.

Often by choosing to go through an agent, you can rely on their expertise to find you the cheapest routes and even sort things such as hotels, transport and car hire for you at the other hand, which leaves you with so much less to worry about.

It can be a huge relief to simply specify your needs and have somebody else do all the searching and booking on your behalf, particularly if you have a large family and lots of different elements to book for lots of people. It can also sometimes be nice to be able to just pick up the phone and speak to a real person when it comes to making bookings, and this is also possible.

We hope this has given you a little bit of insight into how you can enjoy a more affordable holiday and potentially enjoy getting away a little bit more often!
